Why Masonry Restoration Or Brick Repair Work Is Not As Straightforward As It Seems |
When we get a call from a customer looking to have work done on their home one of the first thing we ask is, “When was the building constructed?”. The date of construction gives us a good idea of the materials, principles and methods used by the masons who built it. Typically in older homes you will find lime based mortars and mass masonry walls built using soft clay molded brick and natural stone. It is important to take a sympathetic approach in dealing with older brick and stone properties.
When we price or produce a scope of work, we often need to do a certian amount of investigation work first, such as remove a brick or two or test moisture--to then come up with a remedial action plan. Masonry restoration work on existing unit masonry structures is not black and white or anything like newer construction where its all drawn out for you, going off of plans, square footages, etc., and how fast and cheap can you do it. Restoration work you have to take a sytematic approach with a solid foundation of knowledge to pull from. Expect the unexpected with every job. There will always be challenges and newer challenges will arise on every project because every project is different and may present an issue or condition you havent yet encountered. You have to be willing to get creative and explore other options in order to solve the problem. Our unparalleled team is uniquely qualified to evaluate, analyze, and restore residential and commercial propertiies both historical and non historic.
Once on site we can begin to assess the areas of concern, come up with a solution and explain our repair process to you. We strive to match the masonry units we replace with identical units to achieve a seamless blend. We also strive to match mortar colour and joint profile to the existing mortar using natural dye, lime and a blend of masonry sand.

We Openly Talk About Our Higher Prices. Here’s Why: |
You can easily find a cheap masonry company. What you won’t get is a great brick repair job at a cheap price. Our masonry services are designed to provide only top-quality brickwork. Doing so takes skill, learned over many, many, many years of hands-on experience, using high-quality-custom materials, thousands of dollars worth of specialized tools, training, and a great deal of time to master. Years!
Good brick masons are not easy to find either, and they are not cheap. We pay our masons a higher salary that allows them to live worry-free, so they can be their best at their work.
Our “higher” priced solutions aren’t high. They’re just honest(realistic) and transparent. Many of the various contractors who claim to be actual brick masons will give you a low price to get your contract, and hit you with change orders and surprise costs when you least expect it. Our unique process allows us to be extremely thorough with both determining your needs and expectations and ensuring that they are achieved.
Not cutting corners also means we’re bringing 3x more knowledge to the job site. This gives you your home back in days, not weeks.
Lastly, we stand behind our work with a 3-Year No Questions Asked Warranty. 85% of our customers are repeat customers, which goes to show that our work and commitment truly speaks for itself. We’ve got your back long after the project is completed.

How Our Unique Process Works
The key element that sets us apart from our competitors is our process. In over 50 years of experience, we’ve
fine-tuned and optimized every step. Our aim is to not only deliver like a midwife, but an unmatched quality restoration job, and also create
an environment where you feel safe, understood, and appreciated.
That being said, we recieve a rather high influx of calls and requests weekly from various property owners all over Denver that are in need repairs and need an estimate, a bid or quote. Although we are flattered and would love to help everyone, we simply cannot hop in our truck and drive out to every single job inquiry that comes our way because a.) we'd never get a thing done, and b.) it's just not a great way, at least for us, to run our business. We want to respect everyones time and make sure that we are going to be the right masonry contractor for you.
Remember: when asking for a quote, quotes are best left to philosophers; If were invited to bid on a project, bids are
for auctioneers or beggars--not for blue-collar professionals; If you're gathering estimates, understand that estimates are for those that are guessing, unsure, or not confident in thier solutions.
So, then what do we call when a client needs to get a price for our services? Well, it's an opportunity call—not a sales call.
We're only promised an opportunity to provide service, not a sale. So, instead of us going on a sales call to give a quote, bid, or estimate... remember that, we see it as an "opportunity call". An opportunity to provide a range of customized, relavent solutions so clients can choose the one that's right for them and their situation.
Below we’ve broken down the process so you know exactly what to expect from Brick Repair Denver if you choose us for your masonry repair project.

Below we’ve broken down the process so you know exactly what to expect from Brick Repair Denver if you choose us for your masonry repair project.
Step 1. Get In Touch With UsWhen you’ve decided it’s time to give your home or building the professional masonry repairs it deserves, get in touch with us. After eight decades in the business, we understand the connection you have with your property better than anyone. That’s why we’re invested in offering you a 5-star customer experience, instead of just performing a transaction. Fill out the contact form or get in touch with us directly at (720) 445-9474.
|
Step 2. We Call You Back Within A DayYou won’t have to wait for weeks to hear back from us. Within a day of your inquiry, we’ll give you a call back. We’ll have a short talk about your project, to see how we can best help. We would first need a clearer assessment of the existing conditions, and scope of work to estimate the cost. We would be glad to assist you in assessing, specifying, and any regulatory reviews needed. We’ll also request you send us some pictures, including any other additional details, to better understand the repairs needed or your vision for the project.
|
Step 3. Phone Consultation And DiscoveryWe have been doing this a really, really really long time and we've looked and have worked on a wide range of projects throughout that really, really, really long time. So, after receiving the pictures, and any other important details about your project that we had requested from you, we’ll have a second phone conversation to explore all the variables of your project. When we are on the same page, 95% of the time, we will be able to provide a verbal estimate(rough numbers) during the call based on the information you've provided and our experience performing similar scopes of work. From here, if you'd like to continue moving forward with the repairs, we will schedule the on-site visit.
|
Step 4. On-Site Visit And Scope PreparationAt the on-site visit, we’ll take a walk around your house and conduct a field investigation/condition assessment/survey and material matching. We’ll make sure we didn’t miss anything during the phone consultation, and we’ll finalize the contract to make sure the final result is the spectacular vision you have. By the end of the day, you’ll hear back from us with a final quote or an update depending on the repairs required, specifications and historical research that may be required.
|
Step 5. Getting Your Job On the CalendarThe next step is scheduling your project. We are usually booked out 5-6 weeks in advance. Meanwhile, we’ll stay in touch via phone and email. Kate, our client liaison and project manager, will send you an email with a video about what to expect and what you need to do to prepare for the project. If you’re having an exterior paint job, you’ll receive a 3-day notice about power washing too.
|
Step 6. The Prepping And Mobilzation Phase |
Step 7. Pre-Job WalkthroughOn the day your project is scheduled to start, you’ll meet with Jesse, the owner, or Bruce, the Moose. You’ll also meet your project manager(depending on the project) and the crew. We do a pre-job walkthrough to put everyone on the same page, and we’ll go over the scope of work.
|
Step 9. Post-Job Walkthrough |
Step 10. Next-Day Visit And Final Payment |
Step 11. Follow-up Visit Or Phone Call |
Step 12. A Surprise Phone Call or VisitEven though we've said our goodbyes... sometimes, depending on the repairs or services we provided, and even when the job has been completed months or years down the road... we like to drop you a line or even stop by to see how the repairs are performing. We do this because we simply care about the work we do. And, we care about you and your property. So, if we happen to be in the neighborhood, we may stop by to make sure everything is still in sustainable condition.
